Canyoning (or torrentism) is a sporting activity that takes place inside gorges, ravines and often enclosed streams. The progression is done on foot and the technical material usually consists of a wetsuit, mountaineering helmet and harness. The different types of progression – depending on the route – can include small dives, rope descents and slides, making the activity fun and unique in its kind. The peculiarity of canyoning is that you come into contact with and visit environments that cannot be visited in any other way. It is really difficult to explain this activity in words or with images, the only way to really understand what it is about is to try it!
